The story surrounding this 1836 home includes the Sultan's Ghost, a tale about a grisly mass murder that took place here. A Turkish renter in the 1870s was rumored to keep a harem here, which he created by kidnapping women and torturing them into submission. Stories say that someone passed by one day, and noticed blood was seeping out of the building. Once inside, it had been found that the entire household was violently murdered, the man himself was buried alive out back. The killer was never captured, and apparitions are said to wander the halls. Ghostly screams have also been heard coming from the home.
