The New Orleans-based House of Shock Haunted House and Halloween Festival is back for another season, presenting “The Resurrection.” Originally set to close the doors after the 2014 season, The House of Shock has been given new life thanks to a spirited response from the local community.

Over the past two decades, The House of Shock has enjoyed national and international exposure through publications such as Rolling Stone, Maxim and Playboy and was named Haunted Attraction Magazine’s “Number One Haunted House in the Country” in 2014 and The Travel Channel’s “Most Intense Haunted Attraction”.

In addition to the new Bordello of Freaks and Laff in the Dark, some old fan-favorites of the unique event have received extreme makeovers. The pyrotechnics show will be back with more firepower than ever.

Walk through Seaman Skungy's Bordello of Freaks and then go through the all new House of Shock as if you never seen it before! And let's not forget our 3D event Laff in the Dark which has more scares per square foot than any other haunted house. Email Haunt Owner

I would say that I really enjoyed going to the House of Shock and it kind of gave me scares that were really terrific and the entire time I moved on front screaming. The set was the best part and in this house you feel as if you are in an entirely different kind of a world. The 3D clowns were awesome. After all this scares and haunts you finally get to enjoy live music, bar and snacks. I would certainly recommend this to all my friends.

  • Email Verified Terrific Experience

I have been to many haunted houses in the past and I must say that this one gave me scares which I have never expected. An awesome place! The actors were great and the set was amazing. The costumes and the makeup were beyond awesome. The 3D factor was my favorite. But most people enjoyed doing was Laugh in the Dark attraction. This place is meant for just the haunt lovers.

  • Not your youngin's attraction!

This house was my final haunted attraction of 2015, and it was not a disappointing note to end on. Instead of one house, it was three connected houses with unique themes. Set design, theatrics, and costuming were top-notch. It's nice that it had some scares that were more atmospheric and unnerving, as opposed to nothing but jump scares. I'm not really a horror softie, so I never got legitimately scared, but the scares were great nonetheless. I would NOT advise taking any children, because it can get super gruesome (duh), but it can also be inappropriate at times, such as the ring leader outside the house roasting guests in the front of the line, often with R-rated sex jokes. I didn't mind it, but was also not amused by it. The males in our group (my brother and I) were given proper attention by the scareactors in the houses (much more so than with other attractions that I won't name that only go for the females), and given our history of both having been scareactors a few years ago in another attraction, it was nice to see the performers doing their job, and doing it well.

I am an actor at rise haunted house an i went in 2014 and 2015 with a group of people and we were all scared. i love how they change it every year, my mom went when she was a little girl when it first opened but one thing i didint like was in the 2015 season i asked one of the actors if the huge clown head entrance was inspired from AHS and he replied that it wasent so stop asking, an i found him very rude, but other than that it was legit awesome
