This mansion dates back to 1824 and was taken over by The Union during the Civil War. It is rumored to be haunted by a local who was held prisoner here. His name was Angus Holt, and his ghost is said to haunt the remains of the home, which burned down in 1960. Stories say you can spot his ghost if you look left while on River Road, headed south. Soldiers dressed in blue Union jackets have also been spotted here, believed to be former patients from when the place operated as a Civil War hospital. There may also be various other spirits lingering here because of the "Princess" steamboat explosion that happened nearby in 1859.
