This cemetery has been used as setting for a number of television shows and movies, and also by author Anne Rice, who staged a fake funeral here to promote her book "Memnoch the Devil." It is said to be one of the most haunted cemeteries in the area and right across the street is the renowned Commander's Palace Restaurant, which is believed to be haunted by Emile Commander himself.
